Lyng Village Hall

Following years of fundraising, Lyng's new Village Hall opened in 2019. Funds from our first two events were donated to the Community fundraising campaign, and more recently have been donated towards new staging blocks for activities and performances held at the Hall. 

SENsational Families Support Group
Founded in Lyng and now supporting families across Norfolk who have a child with special educational needs or a disability. SENsational Families run support groups for parents and carers, and a range of training.

​Little DuckLyngs Stay & Play
The old playgroup at the nursery school had to close in July 2019. Volunteers set up a new playgroup at Lyng Village Hall, which started September 2019.  Funding from the Lyng Fling has has provided toys, craft resources and fun activities for the children and their families.

​​Wensum Valley Nursery School
Funds were donated to the Nursery School to provide a permanent canopy to protect the children from the sun in summer and the rain in winter.​​

​Friends of Lyng School (FOLS)
FOLS raises money to support Lyng Primary School. Funds from the Lyng Fling have helped FOLS to purchase much needed outdoor equipment, subsidise transport for school trips and activities for the children.

St. Margaret's Church
Funding is still needed for re-wiring the church and new heating, to make the church warmer and more welcoming to the community.

Lyng Parish Council
Funds from the Lyng Fling have been donated to Lyng Parish Council for the following purposes:

• Lyng Playground - repair and replacement of equipemtn to update and improve our children's playground. 

• Community Defibrillator and Rural First Aid Courses - Courses for members of the community so they can be confident should they ever need to use first aid or to access the village's defibrillator located at Lyng Stores & Tea Room

Lyng Allotment Association

Funds from the Lyng Fling have been used to purchse watering equipment to help plants stay alive and flourish even in dry weather.
